What We Do

Dockside Doctor, Inc. is the Northwest Florida area’s premiere sign, flag, and flagpole installation service company for residential and commercial applications in the Pensacola, Florida Area. We do full service on electrical signs, neon, fluorescent, LED, and Electronic Displays. The Pensacola-based company currently serves locations across the Gulf Coast. In addition to the services mentioned above, Dockside Doctor can provide crane and bucket truck service for lifting and elevated work. Metal fabrications, and mobile welding repairs are also available from a certified welder. Larry is licensed as a Florida Certified Contractor as Electric Sign Specialist. In Escambia County, Larry is licensed for landscaping and tree surgery. He currently holds a Florida CDL Class-A license for commercial motor vehicles.

About Our Founder

Dockside Doctor, Inc. is owned and operated by Larry Hayes, who founded the company in 1987 while serving in the U.S. Navy. Larry retired in 1990 as a Chief Petty Officer Aviation Electrician’s Mate. During active duty, Larry spent five years on the elite U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Maintenance Crew. During his military career, Larry accumulated 5,000 flight hours as a naval air crewman flight engineer on the Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft. After retiring from the Navy, Larry put in another 21 years working as an aircraft support equipment mechanic for various contractors at Naval Air Station Pensacola. He retired from this second career in 2012.

Despite never working in a commercial automotive maintenance shop, Larry has tested and re-certified as an ASE Master Automotive Mechanic.
